Workshop Title: Breaking the Silence: Addressing Depression in Black Women
Summary: Join us for an in-depth workshop that explores the unique challenges faced by Black women experiencing depression. "Breaking the Silence" aims to provide mental health professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to offer culturally sensitive and effective care. This workshop will delve into the intersection of race, gender, and mental health, offering strategies to improve treatment outcomes for Black women. Attendees will gain valuable insights into addressing the stigma surrounding mental health in Black communities and learn how to foster a supportive therapeutic environment.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the cultural, social, and systemic factors contributing to depression in Black women.
- Develop culturally competent strategies to engage and support Black women in therapeutic settings.
- Identify and address the unique barriers to mental health care that Black women face.
