Workshop Title: Culturally Responsive Care: Managing Depression in Black Women
Summary: This workshop is designed to equip mental health professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to provide culturally responsive care to Black women experiencing depression. By understanding the cultural context and unique challenges faced by this population, participants will learn how to tailor their therapeutic approaches to better meet the needs of their clients. The session will cover evidence-based practices and explore how to incorporate cultural competence into clinical care.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the cultural and societal factors that influence depression in Black women.
- Implement culturally sensitive interventions to improve therapeutic outcomes.
- Enhance communication skills to build trust and rapport with Black women clients.
